Best Color Grading Studios in Atlanta (2026)

8 Atlanta colour grading studios and post house colour departments in 2026, from Buckhead network facilities to independent colourists

Introduction

Atlanta has eight colour grading studios worth shortlisting in 2026, split between the local offices of national post houses and smaller rooms built around one or two senior colourists. Between them they grade commercials, music videos, features and episodic work, and each has an Atlanta base this year.

The city's corporate clients drive much of the commercial grading, and Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, The Home Depot and Delta all appear in the credits below. Georgia's film and TV production base adds dailies and finishing: FotoKem and Picture Shop both run Atlanta offices for dailies and review, and Moonshine Post launched Post Atlanta, a gathering for the local post community, in 2026. Light Iron, bought from Panavision by its own staff in May 2026, now lists only its Hollywood facility and is not included.

Every studio here shows an Atlanta address or an Atlanta-based colourist in 2026. The list is shorter than our larger-city lists because several candidates could not be confirmed, and it runs in no fixed order of merit.

The best color grading studios in Atlanta

1. Company 3 Atlanta

Part of Company 3 · Buckhead · company3.com

Company 3's Atlanta office on Peachtree Road offers picture finishing and colour alongside sound and editorial. Senior colourist Billy Gabor opened it after helping to found Company 3's New York location in 1998, and he now also leads the company's Creative Post Council. His longer-form credits include Spike Jonze's short "I'm Here" and Alex Gibney's HBO documentary "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God".

Justin White joined in 2014 as Gabor's assistant and has graded in his own right since 2018, for Coca-Cola, Chick-fil-A, The Home Depot and American Express, as well as Adult Swim's "Yule Log" films and Netflix's "Color Book". Gabor's advertising clients include adidas, Progressive, Toyota and Google. LBB Online credits the office on BBDO Atlanta's holiday campaign for The Home Depot, and Company 3 artists can also be booked remotely through its Virtual Outpost locations.

2. Moonshine Post

Founder-owned · Glenwood Park · moonshinepost.com

Moonshine Post is a full-service post house for film, television and advertising, on the Beltline in Glenwood Park. Founder Drew Sawyer runs it with partners John Petersen, the senior colourist, and general manager Hannah Rockette. Petersen has more than 20 years of grading features, episodes and commercials, and the team also lists colourist Will Gehring.

The grading setup is Dolby Vision ready, with a Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos screening room, and sessions can stream colour-accurate to Santa Monica bays or to client locations. For theatrical checks it works with the Plaza Theatre. Credits include the feature "IDIOTS" and the Tribeca documentary "Trinity: The Story of The LOX". In 2026 Moonshine launched Post Atlanta, with a conference for local post professionals at the Plaza Theatre in September.

3. Harbor

Harbor · Atlanta · harborpicturecompany.com

Harbor is a post and production company with studios in New York, Los Angeles, Hollywood, London, Chicago and Atlanta. Its site lists the Atlanta studio's services as live action production, dailies, colour, sound, ADR, VFX, offline editorial and delivery, so a production can keep dailies and final grade with one company.

Harbor's colourist roster spans advertising and entertainment, with names such as Maxine Gervais, Joe Gawler, Bob Festa and Paul Yacono, but the site does not say which colourists sit in Atlanta. Ask whether your grade will run in an Atlanta suite or remotely with a colourist in another city.

4. Picture Shop Atlanta

Part of Streamland Media · Buckhead · pictureshop.com

Picture Shop is a Streamland Media company best known for episodic and feature finishing. Its Atlanta office on East Paces Ferry Road provides dailies and remote colour reviews, which connect Georgia productions with colourists in its larger facilities. Colourists credited on its recent work include Walter Volpatto and Peter Doyle.

None of its listed artists is shown as Atlanta-based. It suits productions shooting in Georgia that want dailies and supervised review sessions close to set, with the final grade at another Picture Shop facility.

5. FotoKem Atlanta

FotoKem · Midtown · fotokem.com

FotoKem is a Burbank-based post-production and film lab company that offers dailies in Burbank, Hollywood and Atlanta. The Atlanta office is on Peachtree Street NE in Midtown.

Recent credits on its site, across nextLAB dailies, final DI colour and trailer finishing, include "The Odyssey", "Project Hail Mary" and "The Mandalorian & Grogu". The site describes Atlanta as a dailies location, so confirm where a final grade would take place before booking.

6. FUGO Studios

Production company with in-house post · West Midtown · fugostudios.com

FUGO Studios is a commercial production company on West Marietta Street that keeps post in-house, with colour correction and grading alongside editing, sound design, VFX and motion graphics. It works with agencies and brands on television, streaming and social campaigns.

Its client list includes Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola, The Home Depot, Mercedes, Dolby Laboratories and The Weather Channel, and featured work includes Huggies and Doritos. The site does not name its colourists, so ask who will grade. It suits brands that want the grade handled by the team that shot and cut the spot.

7. Shade Color Studio

Owner-run · Atlanta · shadecolorstudio.com

Shade is a boutique grading room run by colourist Jeff Bauman, who has more than 20 years of grading experience. He came through Emerson College's Los Angeles programme, spent eight years in LA post, and moved to Atlanta in 2003. He works in Baselight and DaVinci Resolve.

Bauman also grades remotely for clients across the Southeast, including Charlotte, Birmingham, Knoxville, Orlando and Miami. The site does not list clients, so ask for a reel close to your project.

8. Elvis Suarez

Independent colourist · Atlanta · elvissuarez.com

Elvis Suarez is an Atlanta-based colourist, originally from Miami, who grades narrative films, commercials, documentaries and live performance content. He also works on set as a DIT and data manager and handles online editing and finishing, working through GlassWorks Multimedia.

Commercial credits include State Farm, Target, DirecTV and a Snowflake spot for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Longer-form work includes the series "I Am Frankie" and "Planeta Marcia" and the feature "The Shadow of the Sun". His DIT background helps where a grade needs to build on a look set during the shoot.

What to look for in an Atlanta color grading studio

Start by asking where the grade will happen. Several national names in Atlanta run dailies, review sessions or a single senior colourist locally and connect to suites in Los Angeles or New York. That can work well, but you should know whether your session runs in an Atlanta room or remotely, and who will be at the panel.

Match the colourist to the format. Commercial grading runs to short schedules and agency approvals, while feature and episodic work brings HDR deliverables, Dolby Vision trims and platform specs. Ask which delivery specs the studio has met recently and for a reel close to your project.

Check the viewing environment. A calibrated suite and reference display matter as much as the software, and theatrical work needs projection, which Moonshine handles through the Plaza Theatre. For remote sessions, ask what streaming system is used and what display you need at your end.

Finally, agree how media, LUTs and notes will move. A grade starts from camera originals or a conformed timeline, plus show LUTs and reference stills, and usually ends with several rounds of notes from director, agency and client. Settle where the masters live, how look references are shared and who signs off each version before the first session.

How Fabric helps color grading teams

Fabric gives a colour team one workspace for media, look references and client feedback, with AI search across all of it. Large files sit in Fabric's cloud drive, which streams them on demand so they take no local disk space, and heavy files open without a full download. Teams that grade from proxies can read more in what is a proxy workflow.

Look development leans on reference. Fabric search includes colour search, which finds visual assets by shade, and similar search surfaces images with comparable composition, colour and subject. Show LUTs can sit in the same folder as the stills they were built from, and there is a short primer on what a LUT is.

For review, any graded still, clip or folder can be published as a web page with password protection. Link analytics shows when each named recipient opened a link and how long they spent with it. Directors and clients can leave threaded comments through a shared link without creating an account. Timestamped comments and drawing on video frames are listed as coming soon on the annotations page.

Password protection and link analytics are included on Pro and Team plans. See plans for teams.
