13 London photography studios for commercial shoots in 2026, from railway-arch rental spaces to drive-in stages and production houses

Introduction
London has a large and varied studio market, and the 13 studios below cover most commercial briefs: fashion and beauty campaigns, e-commerce and product work, automotive shoots and the hybrid stills-and-motion days that most brands now book. Each entry is labelled as a rental studio, a production studio, or both.
The market lost a landmark this year. Holborn Studios, which opened in 1979 and spent 14 years fighting a redevelopment of its canal-side site on Eagle Wharf Road, went into administration in March 2026 and closed with 33 redundancies, according to the Hackney Citizen. Spring Studios now presents itself mainly as a creative and events agency, and its London listing gives a Covent Garden address. Meanwhile, more studios have added green screen, LED volume and virtual production stages alongside their white coves, as stills and video shoots increasingly share one booking.
Every studio here is operating in Greater London in 2026. They were chosen for scale, facilities, production support and the brands that use them, and the list runs in no fixed order of merit.
The best photography studios in London
1. Big Sky Studios
Rental, with production support · King's Cross and Hoxton · bigskylondon.com
Big Sky describes itself as central London's largest full-service photographic and production studio, with 15 studios across seven buildings. The main complex is on Brewery Road near King's Cross, and the group also runs spaces at Omega Place and in Hoxton railway arches. Studio 01, the largest, is 569 square metres, and The Roof adds 322 square metres of open-air space with views across to Canary Wharf.
Most of what a shoot needs is in-house: lighting, set build, camera and digital hire through its Digi Boutique, and catering from the NOCO café. That suits fashion and commercial productions that want one supplier for space and kit.
2. Loft Studios
Rental and production · Scrubs Lane, North West London · loftstudios.co.uk
Loft Studios runs six serviced studios on Scrubs Lane, with infinity coves, outdoor daylight spaces and two courtyards. Its sister facility, Klatch Studios in Park Royal, adds a drive-in infinity cove, a black box studio and a soundstage.
The company offers equipment rental for stills and motion, shoot catering from an in-house chef, and production services in London and across Europe. It also hosts events, so check the calendar early for larger bookings.
3. The Worx
Rental · Parsons Green, Fulham · theworx.co.uk
The Worx is a studio and venue complex of more than 30,000 square feet on nearly an acre in Parsons Green, a short walk from the District line. Alongside its studios it has an on-site restaurant, a central courtyard with decking and a gallery space.
Its mix of shooting space and event rooms suits productions that need breakout areas or a press day after the shoot. On-site parking is limited, so plan vehicle access in advance.
4. Malcolm Ryan Studios
Rental · Wimbledon · mrstudios.co.uk
Malcolm Ryan Studios operates five studios on Riverside Road near Wimbledon. Studio A is a drive-in space with a 30-metre infinity cove, and the others include a drive-in white cove, a pre-lit green screen and a compact cove studio.
The site has make-up rooms, production offices, parking, an 80-seat restaurant and lighting, camera and grip hire. Clients listed on its site include Charlotte Tilbury, Boux Avenue and Wing London. The drive-in stages suit car and large-product shoots.
5. Sugar Studios
Rental · Greenwich Peninsula · sugarstudios.co.uk
Sugar Studios sits in a riverside warehouse on Morden Wharf, about 15 minutes from London City Airport. It has four stages: one of London's larger infinity coves, a blackout photography studio, a green screen studio and The Big Stage, plus virtual production capability.
It handles both editorial shoots and productions with more than 250 extras. Recent clients include BMW, Nike, New Balance, adidas, Amazon and Oracle Red Bull Racing. Kit rental, catering, hair and make-up stations and free parking are available.
6. Lock Studios
Rental and production · De Beauvoir and Haggerston · lockstudios.co.uk
Lock Studios has six daylit studios in East London totalling more than 20,000 square feet, including a canal-facing space on De Beauvoir Crescent near Haggerston station. Studio 1 has four-metre ceilings and Studio 2 a white cyclorama wall.
It also works as a creative production agency for stills and moving image, so a brand can book the space alone or the full production. Day rates listed on Tagvenue run from £840 to £3,960 depending on the studio and day, with an eight-hour minimum.
7. Shoreditch Studios
Rental · Shoreditch · shoreditchstudios.com
Shoreditch Studios occupies three converted railway arches on Bateman's Row, with more than 6,000 square feet of high-ceilinged space. Studio 1 (2,000 sq ft) and Studio 2 (1,250 sq ft) can be joined for larger setups, and Over the Road (1,400 sq ft) has daylight and mobile textured backgrounds.
Each studio has a cove and a private hair and make-up room. Lighting comes through 123 Lighting Rental, and the studios are used for fashion, brand photography, film and casting sessions.
8. Jet Studios
Rental · Fulham · jetstudios.co.uk
Jet Studios runs four studios on Lettice Street in Fulham and calls itself West London's space for shoots, production and events. Studio 3 has a clean infinity cove that can be fully blacked out, and catering is available.
Brands listed on its site include BBC, Sky, ITV, M&S and Burberry. It offers test shoot slots, which is useful for checking a cove and lighting before a campaign day.
9. Camberwell Studios
Rental and production · Camberwell · camberwellstudios.co.uk
Camberwell Studios has three studios on Paulet Road in South East London and says it has hosted more than 4,280 productions since 2009. The site includes hospitality and wardrobe rooms and on-site parking.
Beyond studio hire it offers crew, camera and lighting rental, live streaming and virtual production, with production packages from £2,100 plus VAT. Its client list includes the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sony, and the soundproofed studios suit shoots that combine stills with interviews.
10. Island Studios
Rental stages, with production support · Park Royal · islandstudios.net
Island Studios runs Black Island, a six-stage complex near Park Royal, and Dukes Island, four studios on Western Avenue. A third site, Cape Island, is in Cape Town.
The stages offer drive-in access, pre-lit green screens, virtual production, catering, and lighting, camera and grip services. Recent productions listed include Sainsbury's, Asda, Uber Eats, Domino's, McDonald's and IKEA, a roster weighted towards retail and food brands.
11. D10 Studios
Rental and production · Shoreditch and South Tottenham · d10studios.com
D10 Studios has three spaces: a 1,000 square foot studio in Shoreditch and studios with a built infinity cove in South Tottenham. The company started in graphic design and now offers studio hire with in-house equipment alongside its own photography.
Its production side covers commercial and fashion photography, video, retouching, set building, prop sourcing and styling. Work has appeared in Vogue, Elle and GQ, and clients include Cîroc. It suits smaller brands that want a single team from set to final retouched files.
12. Mount Pleasant Studio
Rental · Clerkenwell · mountpleasantstudio.com
Mount Pleasant Studio opened in 2005 as a soundproofed film, TV and photographic studio between Clerkenwell and King's Cross. Its single main studio has a U-shaped infinity cove 31 feet wide and 41 feet deep under a full lighting grid.
It has added LED volume hire, green screen packages and vodcast production, along with fast fibre broadband for live streams. Broadcasters and brands including the BBC, ITV, Channel 5, Disney and UEFA have used it. The central location keeps travel short for crews and talent.
13. 3 Mills Studios
Rental stages · Bow · 3mills.com
3 Mills Studios is a long-established East London stage complex on Three Mill Lane, with 75,000 square feet of stage space across nine main stages, plus more than 130 offices and rehearsal rooms. It has operated for close to four decades and has hosted television drama, feature films and international productions.
For stills, it is the option when a set will not fit in a conventional studio or needs to stay standing for several days. Lucy McCutcheon was appointed head of sales and client services in 2026 and is set to become head of studios later in the year.
What to look for in a London photography studio
Start with the cove and the floor. Check the cove's real dimensions, whether it is L-shaped or U-shaped, and how recently it was painted. For vehicles or large products, confirm drive-in access, door width and floor loading. Malcolm Ryan, Island, Klatch and Sugar all list drive-in stages, which narrows the field fast.
Decide whether you need a rental studio or a production partner. A dry-hire studio such as Shoreditch Studios or Jet gives a photographer or agency the space and leaves crew to them. Lock Studios, D10 and Camberwell can also supply the production, which saves time for brands without an in-house team. Ask what is included in the day rate, since lighting, digital tech, catering and overtime often sit outside it.
Location matters more in London than the rate card suggests. Parking, loading, congestion charge and ULEZ costs add up across a crew, and a studio near a tube line can save an hour each day. The Holborn Studios closure in 2026 is a reminder to confirm that a studio is trading and that the booking terms protect your deposit.
Finally, plan where the files go. A full commercial day can produce thousands of RAW files plus video, and the brand, agency, retoucher and photographer all need access. Agree before the shoot who receives selects, where the latest retouched versions live and how approvals are recorded, so final assets do not get lost across email threads and transfer links.
How Fabric helps photography studio teams
Fabric gives photographers, studios and production teams one workspace for shoot files, client feedback and project knowledge, with AI search across all of it. The Fabric setup for photographers is built around large libraries and client delivery.
RAW files and video from a shoot day sit in Fabric's cloud drive, which streams files on demand so they take no local disk space. Shared team folders always hold the latest versions, and the built-in viewer opens files without a full download. There is a comparison of options in the best cloud storage for photographers.
Finding a frame later is easier with search, which works by meaning across images, documents and transcribed recordings and includes colour search for visual assets. Similar search finds images with matching composition, colour and subject, which helps when pulling references from past shoots. Mood and lighting references can be gathered on a Canvas before the shoot.
For delivery, any folder can be published as a web page to act as a client gallery, protected with a password. Link analytics shows when each named recipient opened it and how long they spent. Clients can leave threaded comments through a shared link without creating an account. Drawing and comments directly on images are coming soon; the current approach is set out in review and approval.
Password protection and link analytics are included on Pro and Team plans. See plans for teams.
