How-to guide
How to save tweets, LinkedIn posts and Reddit threads in one place

Useful posts turn up across several social apps at once. A thread on X explaining a pricing change, a LinkedIn post from a hiring manager about what they look for in a portfolio, a Reddit thread where people compared three standing desks in more detail than any review. Each app has a way to save things, and each saved list stays inside its own app.
This page covers how people usually keep social posts, where that runs into trouble, and how to send posts from X, LinkedIn and Reddit into one Fabric library, with the text and a picture of the post kept together.
How people usually save social posts
The built-in save buttons are the default. X has bookmarks, LinkedIn has saved posts, and Reddit has a saved list. They’re one tap and need no setup. The lists are separate, so a post on a topic you care about could be in any of three places, and searching inside each saved list is limited.
Screenshots are the other habit. They keep a picture of the post even if it’s deleted later, and they work for any app. They also pile up in the camera roll among everything else, and content creators in particular describe saving hundreds of reference screenshots and struggling to find them again.
Some people copy the text into a notes app with the link underneath. That’s the most searchable of the three, and the most work, so it tends to happen only for the very best posts. How to save everything you find online in one place looks at the same problem across all kinds of web content.
Step 1: Save posts from the app on your phone
Most social reading happens on a phone. Install the Fabric app for iOS or Android from the mobile download page. In X, LinkedIn or Reddit, tap Share on the post or thread and choose Fabric. The link is saved to your library.
Add a comment as you save it, such as “good list of interview questions” or “thread on the new EU rules, read the replies”. Tags help if you collect posts for a specific purpose, like research for an article or ideas for your own content.
For posts where the exact look matters, such as a chart, a design or a post you’d like to quote, take a screenshot as well. Fabric can import phone screenshots automatically, and it reads the text inside them.
Step 2: Save posts from your browser
On a computer, install the Fabric browser extension for Chrome, Safari or Firefox. On a post or thread, you can save the whole page, take a screenshot of it, save selected text, or save images.
For a long Reddit thread, selecting the most useful replies and saving that text keeps the part you care about. For a LinkedIn post with a carousel or an X post with a chart, a screenshot captures the visual. You can also paste any post link straight into Fabric, and it becomes a bookmark.
Step 3: Let Fabric sort them by topic
Each saved post is processed on arrival. Fabric creates embeddings so search can match by meaning, writes a summary, extracts concepts, and suggests tags. Set up smart collections for the subjects you follow, and posts on those topics gather together whether they came from X, LinkedIn or Reddit.
Folders and tags are there if you want them, for example a folder per project or per client. Canvas is useful for laying out a set of posts visually, such as reference material for a campaign.
Step 4: Find a post by what it said
Press Cmd+F (Mac) / Ctrl+F (Windows) and describe the post. Search matches by meaning and keyword, and it reads text in screenshots, so “Reddit thread comparing standing desks” or “LinkedIn post about portfolio tips for designers” can find the right one. Put a phrase in quotes for an exact match.
When you’ve found one good post, select it and run a similarity search to see others like it from any platform.
Filters help when the library grows. Narrow a search by tag, by where an item sits in your folders, or by kind of item, so you can look only at bookmarks or only at images when you know a post was saved as a screenshot.
Step 5: Turn saved posts into something useful
Open a folder of saved posts and ask the AI assistant a question. “What did people recommend for remote onboarding?” returns an answer drawn from the posts and threads in that folder, with references you can click to check the source. Save the answer as a note, and it becomes a summary you can come back to.
Founders tracking competitors and writers gathering research use this the same way: save posts as they appear, then ask across all of them when it’s time to write or decide.
Frequently asked questions
How do I save a tweet outside of X?
Tap Share on the post and choose Fabric, or save it with the Fabric browser extension. Take a screenshot too if you want a picture of how it looked.
How do I save LinkedIn posts somewhere else?
Share the post to Fabric from the LinkedIn app, or save it from your browser with the extension. Posts from every platform end up in the same library.
Can I save a whole Reddit thread?
Save the page with the browser extension, or select the replies you want and save that text. On a phone, share the thread link to Fabric.
Can I search my saved posts by topic?
Yes. Search matches by meaning, so describing the topic finds posts that discuss it even when they use different words.
Is text in screenshots of posts searchable?
Yes. Fabric reads text inside images and screenshots, and search covers it.
Can I keep posts from X, LinkedIn and Reddit together?
Yes. Everything you send to Fabric goes into one library, and smart collections can group posts by topic regardless of where they came from.
What if a post I saved gets deleted?
A screenshot you saved to Fabric stays in your library as an image, with its text searchable. That’s why it’s worth taking one for posts you may want to quote later.
Can AI summarize the posts I’ve saved?
Yes. Open the folder and ask the AI assistant. Its answer cites the saved posts it drew on.
Can I save social posts on the free plan?
Yes. Saving links, screenshots and text is part of the free plan, which has storage caps and limited AI use. See pricing.
