Fabric’s canvas is a spatial whiteboard where you can add any Fabric content, organize it, draw around it, write, add post-its and more. You can even paste, drag or embed content directly to the canvas. If you paste a link, it’ll turn into a Fabric bookmark that lives inside the canvas.
What’s the difference between embedded content and referenced content?
Embedded content (like images you upload directly) lives on the canvas itself. Referenced content links to files in your library - if you delete the library file, it disappears from the canvas too.
What’s the difference between preview cards and interactive windows?
Preview cards show a thumbnail of your file, while interactive windows let you actually work with the content (read PDFs, play videos, etc.) without leaving the canvas.
Can collaborators see all the content on my canvas?
If you reference library content as a preview, collaborators can only access it if they have permission to view that file. Embedded content is visible to everyone who can access the canvas.
Do embedded videos and live content actually work on the canvas?
Yes, all embeds are fully interactive - you can watch YouTube videos, edit Figma designs, play Spotify, and interact with any embedded content directly on the canvas.
