Fabric for Photographers

A cloud drive where your photo archive takes zero local disk space and streams on demand. Search every shot by what it looks like. Stop carrying hard drives to shoots.

Your photo archive, streaming from the cloud. Every shot searchable.

A cloud drive where your photo archive takes zero local disk space. Files stream on demand in real time, so they open instantly with no download wait and no hard drives to carry. Every shot is searchable by what it looks like, what colour it is, or what is in it.

Stop carrying hard drives between shoots

Photographers accumulate images faster than almost any other profession. A single wedding produces thousands of files. A year of commercial work fills a drive. A decade of shoots fills a shelf. The images are spread across external drives labelled by year, by client, by the camera's card number. The portrait from the spring campaign is on one drive. The product shots from last quarter are on another. The reference images you have been collecting for years are scattered across three more. When a client comes back for additional selects, or you need a reference from a past shoot, finding it means knowing which drive, bringing it with you, and hoping it still reads.

Infinite Drive is a cloud drive where stored files take zero local disk space. It appears as a mounted drive in Finder or Explorer and streams files on demand in real time. Open a 50 MB RAW file and it loads instantly with no download wait. Your entire archive of images, edits, and exports is accessible from any machine without syncing, without copying, and without carrying drives between your studio and a client meeting.

Your laptop at a coffee shop has the same access to your full archive as your workstation at the studio. A client wants to revisit selects from a year ago, you pull them up on the spot. A second shooter needs access to the latest images from the shared drive, they open them from their own machine. Selective sync keeps active projects local while the rest streams from the cloud.

Infinite Drive replaces Dropbox, Google Drive, and the growing collection of drives you have been meaning to back up.

Search every shot by what it looks like

Image filenames tell you nothing. "DSC_4821.NEF" could be anything. Folder names help if you remember the shoot, but not when you are looking for "that shot with the dramatic side lighting against the dark background" from some point in the last two years.

AI search finds images by describing what you are looking for in plain language. "Headshot with warm studio lighting and grey background." "Product flat lay with marble surface." "Outdoor portrait at golden hour." The search understands visual content, not just filenames and tags.

Similar search finds visually related images across your entire archive. Drop in a reference shot and find every image with a similar look, composition, or colour. Search by colour using a picker or a description like "dusty rose" to pull every image in a specific palette. Smart organization adds automatic tagging and colour recognition as you import, so your archive organises itself without manual work.

The explorer gives you a spatial view of your full archive, showing how images relate by visual similarity and mood. Browse your collection and rediscover shots you had forgotten about alongside the ones you are actively looking for.

Client galleries with tracking

Sending galleries by Dropbox link or email attachment gives you no visibility into whether the client has looked at them. Following up "have you had a chance to review the selects?" when they opened the link three days ago wastes both your time.

Publish galleries, selects, and deliverables with password protection and link analytics. Create named tracking links per client stakeholder. The art director and the marketing manager each get their own link. See who has viewed the gallery, when, and how long they spent. Update the gallery and the link serves the current version.

Annotations and feedback on images

Client feedback by email is imprecise: "I like the third one but can we crop it tighter" leaves you guessing which image is "the third one" and what "tighter" means.

Annotations let clients pin comments to specific spots on any image. Draw directly on the photo to indicate a crop, circle an area that needs retouching, or mark their preferred selects. Feedback is attached to the image, not floating in an email. Combined with tasks and reminders, you track what is addressed and what is outstanding across revision rounds.

Moodboards and reference boards on canvas

Every project starts with references. The lighting from one photographer, the colour palette from a brand campaign, the composition from a magazine editorial. Collecting references in a Pinterest board or a folder works for gathering. Presenting them to a client as a cohesive vision is where it falls apart.

Build reference boards on the canvas. Drag images from your library and arrange them spatially alongside notes, colour swatches, and live embeds from YouTube and other services. Share the board with clients via a published link. The board communicates your creative direction in a way a folder of images cannot.

Capture references anywhere

The mobile app lets you photograph references, record voice notes with automatic transcription, and save links while scouting locations or attending events. Everything syncs to your workspace and is searchable immediately.

The handwriting scanner turns photos of handwritten shot lists, lighting diagrams, and client notes into structured digital documents. The web clipper saves visual references from any website in one click. RSS feeds pull new content from photography blogs and industry sites into your library automatically.

Self-writing docs and agents for client workflows

Self-writing docs connect to your Slack channels and meetings and produce running documentation: client preferences, shoot logistics, project timelines, and feedback summaries maintained automatically. No one stops to write a status update.

Agents handle the operational side. One reads a client call transcript, extracts action items, and creates tasks with deadlines. Another drafts the post-shoot follow-up email. Another compiles a weekly summary of project activity. Dispatch agents from Slack or Discord or by email via their own AI email inbox.

Connections, MCP, and API

Fabric connects to Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, Gmail, Slack, and 50+ other apps. Bring in existing archives, client folders, and reference libraries from wherever they currently live. The MCP server and API open programmatic access for custom integrations.

Use cases for photographers

The workflows photographers run in Fabric: building moodboards and reference boards with visual and colour search, managing client work with per-project spaces and tracked sharing, review and approval of selects and deliverables with annotations, running design projects from concept through delivery, capturing meeting notes from client calls, and building a long-term digital asset library that compounds over years.

A photographer's day in Fabric

Morning. A returning client wants additional selects from a shoot eight months ago. Instead of locating the right hard drive, you search "outdoor portraits with the red dress, autumn background" and the images surface instantly from Infinite Drive. You drag the best into a new gallery.

Mid-morning. You are planning a product shoot. You search your library for "flat lay with white marble surface" and find reference shots from three past projects plus two you saved from a blog last year. You arrange them on a canvas moodboard alongside lighting notes and colour swatches.

Afternoon. You publish selects from yesterday's shoot with a tracked link for the client. The art director and the brand manager each get their own link. Tomorrow you will see who has reviewed them.

Late afternoon. The client leaves annotations on the gallery. "Can we crop this one tighter on the left" is drawn directly on the image, not described in an email. You see exactly what they mean.

End of day. You save a few reference images from a magazine editorial that caught your eye. They go into your library, searchable by visual similarity for the next project that needs a similar look. An agent reads today's client call transcript and files the action items as tasks.

FAQs

What is Infinite Drive and how does it work for photographers?

Infinite Drive is a cloud drive where stored files take zero local disk space. It appears as a mounted drive in Finder or Explorer and streams files on demand in real time. Open a RAW file and it loads with no download wait. Your full archive is accessible from any machine without external hard drives, syncing, or file transfers.

Does Infinite Drive replace my external hard drives?

For most photographers, yes. Your archive lives in the cloud and streams on demand. You access the same files from your studio workstation, your laptop at a client meeting, or your home setup. No more carrying drives between locations or wondering which drive has which shoot.

Can I search photos by describing what they look like?

Yes. AI search finds images by description. "Headshot with dramatic side lighting" or "product flat lay on marble" finds the matching shots. Similar search finds visually related images when you drop in a reference.

Can I search by colour?

Yes. Search by colour name, description, or picker. Find every image in a specific palette across your full archive.

Can I share galleries with clients and track views?

Yes. Publish with password protection and link analytics. Create named tracking links per stakeholder and see who viewed, when, and for how long.

Can clients leave feedback on specific images?

Yes. Annotations let clients pin comments to specific spots on images, draw on photos to indicate crops or retouching, and mark their selects. Feedback is attached to the image, not in an email.

Can I build moodboards from my library?

Yes. The canvas lets you arrange images, notes, and references spatially. Share the board with clients via a published link.

Can I capture references from my phone while scouting?

Yes. The mobile app lets you photograph locations, record voice notes with transcription, save links, and scan handwritten notes. Everything syncs to your workspace.

Are my photos automatically organised?

Yes. Smart organization tags and categorises images by content, colour, and visual characteristics without manual effort.

Can agents handle client admin?

Yes. Agents read call transcripts, extract action items, create tasks, and draft follow-up emails. Dispatch them from Slack or Discord or by email.

Can I use Fabric alongside Lightroom or Capture One?

Yes. Fabric is not a photo editor. It is the workspace around the edit: archive management, references, client feedback, galleries, and project assets. Your editing software handles the processing. Fabric holds everything else, and Infinite Drive streams the files.

Is my archive and client material secure?

Yes. Fabric uses AES-256 encryption and is CASA Tier 2 compliant. Your content is private by default. Published links can be password-protected. Your data is never used to train AI models.

Can I import existing files from Google Drive or Dropbox?

Yes. Fabric connects to Google Drive and Dropbox. You can also sync from your desktop and back up from iOS and Android.
