What is Jira Software Cloud?

Jira Software Cloud is Atlassian's issue and project tracker for software teams. Teams use it to plan sprints, track bugs and stories, and see work move through a workflow. Filing a well formed issue, finding the right one and keeping it updated takes more clicks than it should. This connection lets Fabric's assistant do that for you, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Jira Software Cloud

Once Jira is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can find, file and update issues from a simple request.

Find the right issues. Get issues, Find Issue, Find Issue by Key, Find Issues by Filter and Find Issues (Via JQL) pull issues, with the assistant writing the JQL when a question needs it. Find Filters, Find Project, Find Component, Find User and Get Sprint Information fill in the context, and Get Attachment Content reads what is attached. Ask what is still open in the current sprint for a component and you get a list instead of a query to build.

File issues from your notes. Create Issue and Find or Create Issue turn a bug report, a customer request or the action items from a meeting into well formed issues. Link Issues connects related work, and Add Attachment to Issue adds screenshots or logs.

Keep issues moving. Update Issue changes fields such as assignee, priority and status. Add Comment to Issue records decisions, Add Watcher to Issue keeps the right people informed, Add Work Log to Issue logs time, and Move Issue to Sprint plans work into a sprint.

Work with forms. Add or Edit Form on Issue, Submit Form and Delete Form manage Jira forms attached to issues. API Request (Beta) reaches the Jira API for anything else.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before deleting anything, such as removing a form, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Finding and reading issues never changes your projects.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a Friday summary of what closed in the sprint. The connection also includes events, such as New Issue, New Issue (Via JQL), Issue Status Changed and Updated Issue, which can start an automation when issues change.

Search your issues from Fabric

Connecting Jira also adds keyword search over your issues from Fabric's main search, so a ticket is findable alongside your specs and notes.
