What is Xero?

Xero is cloud accounting software for small and growing businesses. It covers sales invoices, quotes, bills, bank transactions, contacts, inventory, payroll and projects. The routine jobs, raising invoices, recording payments and keeping contacts current, add up quickly. This connection lets Fabric's assistant handle them for you, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Xero

Once Xero is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can look things up and do everyday accounting tasks from a simple request.

Get answers from your accounts. Find Invoice, Find Invoice by ID, Get Invoice History, Find Payment, Find Quote, Find Credit Note, Find Purchase Order, Find Contact, Find Item and Find Employee look things up. Ask what a customer owes or what happened on an invoice and you get the answer without opening Xero.

Invoice and quote. Create Sales Invoice raises an invoice, Send Sales Invoice by Email sends it, and Update Sales Invoice, Add Items to Existing Sales Invoice and Add Note to Invoice adjust it. Create Repeating Sales Invoice sets up a recurring one for retainers. Create New Quote Draft and Update Quote handle quotes before the work is agreed.

Record money in and out. Create Payment records a payment against an invoice or bill, Create Bill enters a supplier bill, and Create Bank Transaction and Create Bank Transfer record bank activity. Create Credit Note, Allocate Credit Note to Invoice and Delete Credit Note Allocation manage credits. Create Purchase Order and Update Purchase Order handle ordering, and Upload Attachment keeps the source document with the record.

Keep contacts, stock and the rest up to date. Create/Update Contact and Find or Create Contact maintain customers and suppliers without duplicates. Create Inventory Item, Find or Create Item and Add or Update Stock Items manage products. Create Employee, Update Employee, Create Project and Create Account cover the rest. You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions. For steps with financial impact, such as recording a payment or removing a credit note allocation, it confirms with you before going ahead, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Looking things up never changes your accounts.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a weekly list of overdue invoices. The connection also includes events, such as New Sales Invoice, Overdue Sales Invoice, New Payment and New Bill, which can start an automation when something is recorded.

Search your accounts from Fabric

Connecting Xero also adds keyword search over your records from Fabric's main search, so an invoice or contact is findable alongside the rest of your library.
