What is Twilio?

Twilio is a communications platform that lets businesses send text messages, make phone calls and send WhatsApp messages through their own phone numbers. Teams use it for reminders, alerts and customer updates. This connection lets Fabric's assistant send those messages and calls for you, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Twilio

Once Twilio is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can reach people by phone and message from a simple request.

Send text messages. Send SMS sends a text from your Twilio number, useful for an appointment reminder, a delivery update or a quick note to a customer.

Send WhatsApp messages. Send WhatsApp Message sends a message through your Twilio WhatsApp sender.

Place calls. Call Phone places a call that reads out a message, such as an urgent alert to an on call contact.

Go further with the API. API Request (Beta) reaches the Twilio API for anything else.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before sending a message or placing a call, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Messages and calls are billed to your Twilio account.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as texting tomorrow's appointment reminders each afternoon. The connection also includes events, such as New SMS, New Call, New Recording, New Transcription and New WhatsApp Message, which can start an automation.

What does the Twilio connection do?

It lets Fabric's assistant send SMS and WhatsApp messages and place phone calls through your Twilio account.

Can I send a text message with AI?

Yes. Give the assistant the number and message, and Send SMS sends it after you confirm.

Can it send WhatsApp messages?

Yes, if your Twilio account has a WhatsApp sender set up. Send WhatsApp Message sends it.

Can it make phone calls?

Yes. Call Phone places a call that reads out your message.

Who pays for messages and calls?

They are billed to the Twilio account you connect, at Twilio's rates.

Can the assistant read my incoming texts?

There is no action for reading them. Incoming messages and calls are events, such as New SMS, that can start an automation.

Does the assistant send messages on its own?

No. It acts on your instructions.

Is my data secure?
