What is Looker?

Looker is Google Cloud's business intelligence platform, where teams explore governed data, build Looks and dashboards, and share reports. This connection lets Fabric's assistant run Looks and queries, render reports, and manage Looker users, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Looker

Once Looker is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work with Looker from a simple request.

Run Looks and queries. Run Look returns a saved Look's results, and Execute SQL Query runs SQL. Ask for this week's pipeline numbers and keep them in a note in Fabric.

Render reports. Create Render Task renders a Look or dashboard, and Get Render Task Results returns the file.

Manage users. Find User looks someone up, and the assistant can create users and email credentials, add roles and groups, send a password reset or setup email, and delete users.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before creating or deleting users or changing roles, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Running a Look never changes anything.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as running a Look every Monday and saving the results. The connection also includes events, such as New Record Created in Look and New User, which can start an automation.

Search your Looker users from Fabric

Connecting Looker also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search.

How people use it

Founders get weekly numbers from a Look in Fabric.

Data teams render a dashboard for a meeting.

IT admins set up new Looker users with the right roles.

Product managers run a saved Look before a review.
