Log time, open matters, and file documents in Clio.
Powered by Zapier.
Clio is legal practice management software used by law firms to manage matters, contacts, documents, calendars, time tracking and billing. Lawyers lose billable time to admin: opening matters, logging time, filing documents and recording calls. This connection lets Fabric's assistant handle that for you, in plain language.
Once Clio is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work in your practice from a simple request.
Find matters and contacts. Find Matter, Find Matter by Custom Field, Find Newest Matter by Client Email, Find Person Contact, Find Company Contact, Find Contact by Custom Field, Find User and Find Bill look things up. Ask for the status of a client's matter before a call and you get it without searching Clio.
Open and update matters. Create Matter and Find or Create a Matter open matters, Update Matter changes them, Create Matter Folder sets up folders, and Assign Task Template List applies your standard task list.
Log time and expenses. Create Time Entry (Activity) records time and Create Expense Entry (Activity) records costs, so a description of your afternoon becomes billable entries.
Keep the record. Create Matter Note and Create Communication log notes and calls, Create Calendar Entry adds a deadline or hearing, Create Task and Update Task track work, and Upload Document to Matter and Create Document From Template file and generate documents.
Manage contacts. Create Person Contact, Create Company Contact, Update Person Contact, Update Company Contact and their Find or Create versions keep clients and parties current. API Request (Beta) reaches the Clio API for anything else.
The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before creating time entries, matters or documents, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Looking things up never changes anything.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a Monday list of upcoming calendar deadlines. The connection also includes events, such as New Matter, Matter Status Updated, New Task, New Bill and New Document, which can start an automation.
Connecting Clio also adds keyword search over your Clio records from Fabric's main search.
Lawyers log the day's time entries by describing what they worked on.
Paralegals open a new matter, apply the task template and create the folder in one request.
Law firms generate an engagement letter from a template and file it to the matter.
Associates log a client call as a communication with notes.
