What is Bird?
Bird, formerly MessageBird, is a customer communications platform for sending email, SMS and WhatsApp messages at scale, with delivery tracking, inbound handling and verification. This connection lets Fabric's assistant send messages and check how they performed, in plain language.
What Fabric's assistant can do with Bird
Once Bird is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work with Bird from a simple request.
Send messages. Send Email, Send SMS and Send WhatsApp Message send a message through your Bird account, for example an announcement drafted in Fabric.
Check delivery and statistics. The assistant can look up sent emails, SMS and WhatsApp messages, their events and recipients, and email and SMS statistics. Ask how last week's send performed.
Read inbound email. It can find inbound emails, their content and attachments.
Review setup. It can look up sending domains, templates, suppressions, inbound routes, keyword rules and webhooks.
Verify users. Start Verification sends a one time code, and Check Verification Code confirms it.
You stay in control
The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before sending any message, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Sends count toward your Bird plan. Looking things up never changes anything.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a weekly delivery report. The connection also includes the event New Event, which can start an automation.

Connecting Bird also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search.
