Replo review: a Shopify landing page builder built for speed and experimentation

The page builder that trades affordability for performance, design control and built-in testing

Last updated October 2026

Replo occupies an unusual position in the Shopify page builder market. It is not the cheapest option, nor the most widely adopted. What it does offer is a combination of page speed, design freedom and integrated experimentation tools that most alternatives either lack or bolt on as afterthoughts. For Shopify merchants running paid traffic at volume, those three things together can matter more than a lower monthly subscription.

The product has evolved considerably through 2026. Alongside its established Shopify Theme Builder, Replo now offers a separate AI Builder product that uses an agent-based workflow to generate and optimise commerce pages from prompts, images and ad creative. Agent credits, visitor session allowances and built-in analytics have replaced the simpler feature gates of earlier pricing. The result is a more capable tool, though also a more complex one to evaluate.

This review covers both sides of that equation. We will look at what Replo does well, where it falls short, who it suits and who should consider alternatives. If you are weighing it against PageFly, Shogun or GemPages, the comparison sections and FAQ should help clarify the differences.

What Replo is

The basics

Replo is a visual page builder for Shopify that lets merchants create landing pages, product pages, homepages, blog layouts and custom sections without writing code. It publishes directly into an existing Shopify theme, so pages inherit the store's navigation, checkout and general look rather than sitting on a separate subdomain.

The editor is drag-and-drop, with separate desktop and mobile views, global style controls, custom font support and unlimited version history. Pages survive theme swaps, and sections built in Replo can be reused across the store. Integrations with tools like Klaviyo, Recharge, Yotpo, Junip and GA4 are available through the Shopify App Store listing.

Beyond the visual builder, Replo now has two distinct product lines. The Classic Shopify Theme Builder is the core offering most merchants will use. The newer Replo Builder (AI) is an agent-led tool that can start building pages before a Shopify store is even connected, generating layouts from text prompts, uploaded images, ad creative and URLs.

Who it's for

Replo is designed for Shopify merchants who launch pages frequently. The typical user profile is a DTC brand or growth team running paid acquisition, spinning up campaign-specific landing pages and testing variants against one another. Agencies managing multiple Shopify stores also make up a significant portion of the user base.

The tool assumes a certain level of operational maturity. A store that updates its pages once a quarter will not extract enough value to justify the price. A team that launches new landing pages weekly, runs split tests and iterates on conversion data will find the workflow well suited to how they already operate.

Features

Visual editor and design control

Replo's editor gives more design freedom than most Shopify page builders. You work with components, containers and layout primitives rather than rigid pre-built blocks. This means you can build pages that look distinct from one another, rather than obviously template-derived. Global styles help maintain consistency across pages without manually updating each one.

The trade-off is a steeper learning curve than tools like PageFly or GemPages, which offer a more guided, block-based editing experience. Non-technical users can build pages in Replo, but detailed designs will take longer to learn than in some competing editors. The interface is functional rather than polished, and the freedom it offers comes with the responsibility of knowing what you want to build.

Figma integration

The Figma-to-Replo plugin is one of the more practical design-to-page workflows available for Shopify. It copies frames from Figma while preserving layout structure, text styles and images. Auto Layout in Figma translates most cleanly, and the plugin handles static layouts well.

Interactive elements like carousels, accordions and tabbed content will need finishing inside Replo's editor, since Figma does not carry interaction logic. But for teams that design in Figma first and then build in Shopify, this plugin removes a meaningful amount of manual reconstruction. It is particularly useful for agencies that maintain design systems in Figma and need to translate them into Shopify pages with reasonable fidelity.

A/B testing and experimentation

Built-in A/B testing is included on all paid plans, which is unusual for a page builder at this price point. Most alternatives either omit testing entirely or charge extra for it. Replo's implementation supports unlimited variants, reusable split-test URLs and built-in analytics for each experiment.

Experiment sessions are counted separately from general page sessions, and only visits through a split-test link contribute to the experiment count. This means you can run tests without worrying that every page view on your site is eating into an experiment allowance.

For teams that would otherwise pay for a separate testing tool like Google Optimize (now sunset), VWO or Optimizely, having experimentation built into the page builder simplifies the stack. The statistical rigour is not at the level of a dedicated enterprise testing platform, but for landing page variant testing it is more than adequate.

Analytics and conversion tracking

Replo includes its own analytics dashboard, powered by an opt-in pixel that tracks conversion rate, average order value, sessions, revenue and revenue per session. Attribution can be configured by entry page, all session pages or fractional attribution across the session.

This is useful for teams that want page-level conversion data without digging through GA4 or building custom reports. The data is scoped to Replo pages, so you see performance in the context of the pages you are building and testing rather than across the entire store.

One caveat worth noting: third-party script-blocking or deferring tools (such as some speed optimisation apps) can interfere with the Replo analytics pixel. If you run one of those tools, verify that tracking is working correctly after installation.

AI builder and agent workflows

Replo's AI capabilities have expanded significantly in 2026 with the introduction of the AI Builder as a separate product line. The agent can generate pages from text prompts, adapt existing ad creative into landing page layouts, and build sites before a Shopify store is connected. A Build Assistant inside the editor helps modify components, sections, copy and imagery without starting from scratch.

On the Pro plan, AI optimisation recommendations analyse page performance and suggest changes. Agent credits govern usage of AI features, with 10,000 credits included on Starter and 50,000 on Pro.

The AI tools are best understood as accelerators rather than replacements for design judgment. They work well for generating a first draft or creating quick variants of an existing page. Expecting the AI to produce a polished, conversion-optimised page from a single prompt will lead to disappointment. The output still needs a human eye and, in most cases, meaningful editing.

Page performance and speed

In independent testing, Replo pages score higher on mobile Lighthouse than competing builders. One widely cited comparison measured Replo at 79 on mobile and 92 on desktop, against PageFly at 52, GemPages at 64 and Shogun at 71 (mobile scores, same test content). Replo adds roughly 80kb of JavaScript to a page, the lightest footprint of the major Shopify page builders.

Page speed matters for two reasons. Slower pages convert less well, particularly on mobile. And Google's Core Web Vitals influence search rankings, so a faster page builder contributes to organic visibility over time. The gap between 52 and 79 on mobile Lighthouse is significant enough to affect both conversion and SEO.

That said, page speed depends on more than the builder. Heavy images, excessive apps and poorly configured themes can slow down any Shopify page regardless of which builder created it.

Code export and developer workflow

Replo is the only major Shopify page builder that offers a clean code export path. Pages can be exported as standalone HTML/CSS, React components or into a Next.js codebase. The developer workflow is Git-based and code-first, with native React and Liquid support.

This matters for two reasons. First, it reduces vendor lock-in. If you decide to move away from Replo, your pages are not trapped in a proprietary format. Second, it allows developer-led teams to work with Replo's output as code rather than treating it as an opaque visual layer on top of Shopify.

For teams that eventually want to bring page building in-house or migrate to a headless architecture, this export capability is a meaningful differentiator.

Pricing

Replo's pricing has four tiers, with annual billing offering a lower effective monthly rate. All prices below are for annual billing unless stated otherwise.

Free

The Free plan lets you build and preview pages but not publish them. Preview links expire after two hours. This is useful for evaluating the editor and building a proof of concept, but it is not a viable long-term option for a live store.

Starter at $99 per month

The Starter plan is where most merchants will begin. Billed annually, it costs $99 per month ($119 on a month-to-month basis). It includes 10,000 AI agent credits, 100,000 visitor sessions, A/B testing, analytics, custom domains, unlimited team members and one Shopify store connection. Publishing is limited to 15 items.

Session overages apply once you exceed the included allowance, so high-traffic stores should estimate their monthly sessions before committing. For most stores running targeted paid traffic to landing pages, 100,000 sessions is a reasonable starting point.

Pro at $499 per month

The Pro plan is aimed at larger teams and agencies with higher volume. Billed annually, it costs $499 per month ($599 month-to-month). It includes 50,000 agent credits, 500,000 visitor sessions, lower overage rates, AI optimisation recommendations, priority support and unlimited Theme Editor publishing.

The jump from $99 to $499 is steep, and the primary justifications are higher session limits, unlimited publishing and the AI optimisation features. Teams that need more than 15 published items or 100,000 sessions per month will find themselves pushed toward this tier.

Custom

Custom pricing is available for stores and agencies with requirements beyond the Pro plan. This typically includes higher session and credit limits, dedicated support and negotiated overage rates.

A note on pricing complexity

Replo's pricing has become more complex in 2026. The introduction of agent credits, session allowances and separate limits for the AI Builder and Theme Builder products means that comparing plans requires more careful reading than a simple feature grid suggests. Annual and monthly prices differ, and the limits shown depend on which product you are evaluating. It is worth checking the pricing page directly and confirming which plan your Shopify account qualifies for.

Pros and cons

What works well

Page speed is a genuine competitive advantage. Replo's lighter JavaScript footprint and higher Lighthouse scores translate to faster load times, better mobile experience and a small SEO benefit. For stores where landing page speed directly affects paid traffic ROI, this matters.

Built-in A/B testing removes a tool from the stack. Having experimentation and analytics inside the page builder, rather than requiring a separate testing tool, simplifies the workflow and reduces cost for teams that test frequently.

Figma integration is practical, not theoretical. Unlike some builders that claim Figma compatibility but deliver a clunky import, Replo's plugin produces usable results that need finishing rather than rebuilding.

Code export reduces lock-in. The ability to export pages as HTML/CSS, React or Next.js means you are not permanently dependent on Replo. Few competitors offer this.

The editor rewards investment. Once you learn the component-based approach, you can build distinctive pages more quickly than with template-constrained editors. Reusable sections and global styles accelerate repeat page creation.

Analytics and attribution are included. Page-level conversion data is available without configuring external tracking, which is useful for teams that want quick performance reads on new pages.

Where it falls short

The price is high relative to alternatives. At $99 per month for the entry-level paid plan, Replo costs four to five times more than PageFly ($24) or GemPages ($29). For stores with modest page-building needs, that premium is hard to justify.

The free plan is too limited to be useful. Not being able to publish means the free tier is a trial, not a plan. Stores evaluating Replo must commit to $99 per month before they can see a page live.

Session-based pricing adds unpredictability. Overage charges on sessions mean your monthly cost can vary, and high-traffic stores may find the included allowances insufficient on Starter.

The learning curve is real. Non-technical users will take longer to become productive in Replo than in PageFly or GemPages. The editor's flexibility is a strength for experienced builders but a barrier for beginners.

The Shopify App Store rating is lower than competitors. At 4.6 stars from roughly 183 reviews, Replo trails PageFly (4.9 from 5,400), GemPages (4.9 from 3,674) and Shogun (4.8 from 1,928). The smaller review base makes the rating less statistically stable, but the gap is notable.

Vendor dependency on publishing. While code export mitigates long-term lock-in, day-to-day publishing requires an active Replo subscription. Uninstalling the Shopify app leaves published pages live but prevents updates, and downgrading to Free can cause hosted pages to stop serving within 14 days.

The price jump from Starter to Pro is steep. Moving from $99 to $499 per month is a significant increase, and teams that outgrow Starter's limits may find themselves paying materially more before the additional features justify the cost.

Who Replo is best for

Growth teams running paid acquisition on Shopify. If you launch landing pages frequently, test variants and optimise based on conversion data, Replo's combination of speed, testing and analytics is well matched to your workflow. The higher price is offset by the tools you no longer need separately.

Agencies managing multiple Shopify stores. The reusable component system, Figma integration and code export make Replo efficient for agencies that build pages across client accounts. The editor rewards the time invested in learning it, and the design freedom allows differentiation between clients.

Figma-first design teams. If your design process starts in Figma and you want a builder that respects that workflow, Replo's plugin is the most practical option available for Shopify.

Technically capable marketing teams. Teams with a developer or technical marketer will extract the most value from Replo's editor. The component-based approach and code-level access suit teams that think in systems rather than individual pages.

DTC brands with high campaign tempo. Brands that ship new creative weekly, run seasonal campaigns and maintain multiple landing page variants will find Replo's workflow and A/B testing particularly useful.

Who should look elsewhere

Stores that update pages infrequently. If you change your landing pages once a quarter or less, the ongoing subscription cost of Replo is difficult to justify. A simpler, cheaper builder or the native Shopify theme editor will serve you well enough.

Budget-conscious stores or early-stage brands. At $99 per month, Replo is a meaningful line item for a store that is still finding product-market fit. PageFly at $24 or GemPages at $29 offer page building at a fraction of the cost, with trade-offs in speed and testing that may not matter at lower traffic volumes.

Non-technical users who want simplicity. If you want a builder that is immediately intuitive and does not require learning a component-based system, GemPages or PageFly will get you to a published page more quickly. Replo's learning curve is a real consideration for solo operators or small teams without design or development experience.

Stores seeking zero vendor dependency. While Replo's code export mitigates lock-in, ongoing publishing and analytics depend on an active subscription. If complete independence from a third-party builder is a priority, custom Liquid development may be a better long-term path.

Single-page needs. If you need one landing page and nothing more, Replo's pricing and complexity are disproportionate to the task. A freelancer or a simpler tool will be more cost-effective.
