Manage Postman collections, environments, mocks, monitors and workspaces.
Powered by Zapier.
Postman is an API platform for designing, testing, documenting and monitoring APIs, with collections of requests, environments, mock servers and monitors shared across workspaces. This connection lets Fabric's assistant create and manage Postman resources, in plain language.
Once Postman is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work in Postman from a simple request.
Find resources. The assistant can find APIs, collections, environments, mock servers, monitors and workspaces by ID.
Build collections. It can create and update collections, add folders and create requests, for example from an API spec you keep in Fabric.
Environments and mocks. It can create and update environments, and create mock servers.
Monitors. It can create and update monitors, and Run Monitor runs one now.
Workspaces and APIs. It can create and update workspaces, and create APIs.
The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before changing shared collections, environments or workspaces, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Finding resources never changes anything.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as running a monitor before a weekly release. The connection also includes events, such as New Collection, New API and New Monitor, which can start an automation.
Connecting Postman also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search.
Developers add requests to a collection from an endpoint list.
QA engineers run a monitor after a deploy.
Engineering teams set up a workspace and environments for a new project.
What does the Postman connection do?
It lets Fabric's assistant find, create and update collections, requests, folders, environments, mock servers, monitors, workspaces and APIs, and run monitors, and it adds keyword search in Fabric.
Can I create Postman requests with AI?
Yes. Describe the endpoint and the assistant creates the request in a collection.
Can it run a monitor?
Yes. Run Monitor runs it.
Can it create a mock server?
Yes. Create Mock Server sets one up.
Can it send API requests itself?
No. Requests are run in Postman.
Does the assistant change collections on its own?
No. It acts on your instructions.
Is my data secure?
Everything in Fabric is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the connection acts on your account with your authorization. See the privacy and security guide.
Does Fabric work with other developer tools?
Fabric is an AI workspace for your projects, ideas, and files.
Save anything – PDFs, images, links, notes, voice memos, videos – and search across all of it by meaning, not just keywords. Think visually on an infinite canvas, connect your tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, and Figma, and work alongside a personal AI assistant that knows your work, remembers your context, and gets smarter the more you use it.
Available on web, iOS, Android, and desktop.
