Find, organize, and share your OneDrive files.
Powered by Zapier.
OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud storage, where Microsoft 365 users keep documents, spreadsheets, presentations and other files. Finding the right file, filing new ones and sharing them takes more clicks than it should. This connection lets Fabric's assistant manage your OneDrive files for you, in plain language.
Once OneDrive is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can find, organize and share files from a simple request.
Find files. Find File, Find Folder, Find File or Folder by ID and Find Drive by ID locate what you need, and Find Items (Via KQL) runs a more precise search, with the assistant writing the query when it helps. Get Item Permissions shows who has access.
File and organize. Upload File adds a file, Create Text File creates one from text, and Create Folder sets up structure. Move or Rename File or Folder and Copy File or Folder reorganize, Replace File swaps in a new version, and Delete File or Folder removes what you no longer need. Export File converts a file to another format.
Share. Create Sharing Link creates a link and Create Sharing Invitation invites specific people. Remove Item Permission takes access away. API Request (Beta) reaches the Microsoft Graph API for anything else.
The assistant works from your instructions. For anything that removes data or changes access, such as deleting a file or sharing it, it confirms with you before going ahead, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Finding files never changes anything.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as filing the week's exports into a dated folder. The connection also includes the events New File, New Folder and New or Updated File, which can start an automation.
Connecting OneDrive also adds keyword search over your OneDrive files from Fabric's main search, so a file is findable alongside the rest of your library. That is the idea behind one search across your tools.
Operations teams share a folder with a new client and check who has access.
Finance teams export a workbook to PDF and file it in the month's folder.
Consultants find the latest version of a deliverable by describing it.
Anyone tidying up moves and renames a batch of files into a clear structure.
What does the OneDrive connection do?
It lets Fabric's assistant find, upload, create, copy, move, rename, replace, export and delete files and folders, and manage sharing links, invitations and permissions, and it adds keyword search over your OneDrive in Fabric.
Can I find a OneDrive file with AI?
Yes. Describe the file and the assistant finds it with Find File or a KQL search.
Can it share files?
Yes. Create Sharing Link and Create Sharing Invitation share a file, after you confirm.
