Add, find, and complete Google Tasks from your notes.
Powered by Zapier.
Google Tasks is Google's simple to-do list, built into Gmail, Google Calendar and the Tasks app. People use it to keep personal and work tasks in lists with due dates. The friction is getting tasks in: most of them start life in an email, a meeting or a note. This connection lets Fabric's assistant add and update them for you, in plain language.
Once Google Tasks is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can manage your lists from a simple request.
Capture tasks from anywhere. Create Task adds a task with a title, notes and due date to the list you choose, and Find or Create Task checks for an existing one first so you do not add it twice. Ask the assistant to pull the follow-ups out of your meeting notes and add them to your work list.
See what is on your plate. Get Tasks by List shows everything in a list and Find Task finds a specific task, so you can ask what is due this week without opening Google.
Keep lists tidy. Update Task changes a task's title, notes, due date or status, including marking it complete. Create Task List starts a new list for a project. API Request (Beta) reaches the Google Tasks API for anything else.
The assistant works from your instructions, and finding tasks never changes anything. It confirms with you before changes you have not clearly asked for, unless you've told it not to for a particular task.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a morning summary of what is due today. The connection also includes the events New Task, New Completed Task and New Task List, which can start an automation.
Connecting Google Tasks also adds keyword search over your tasks from Fabric's main search, so a task is findable alongside the rest of your library. If you prefer to keep tasks inside Fabric, see Fabric's own tasks and reminders.
Busy professionals turn the action items from a meeting into Google Tasks with due dates in one request.
Students add assignment deadlines from a syllabus to a course list.
Anyone who lives in Gmail asks for a summary of open tasks before planning the week.
People with a weekly review mark finished tasks complete and move dates on the rest.
What does the Google Tasks connection do?
It lets Fabric's assistant create, find, update and complete tasks, list the tasks in a list, and create task lists, and it adds keyword search over your tasks in Fabric.
Can I add tasks to Google Tasks with AI?
Yes. Describe the task or share your notes, and Create Task adds it with the due date you mention.
Can it mark tasks as complete?
Yes. Update Task marks a task complete or changes its details.
Can it show me what is due?
Yes. Get Tasks by List reads a list so the assistant can tell you what is due and when.
Will it add duplicate tasks?
Find or Create Task checks for an existing task with the same title first.
Does the assistant change tasks on its own?
No. It acts on your instructions.
Is my Google Tasks data secure?
Everything in Fabric is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the connection acts on your account with your authorization. See the privacy and security guide.
Does this work through MCP or the API?
Fabric also exposes your library and connected tools to external AI through its MCP server and API. This connection is the built-in way for Fabric's own assistant to work with Google Tasks.
Does Fabric work with other Google and task tools?
Yes. You can also connect Gmail, Google Calendar and Todoist.
Fabric is an AI workspace for your projects, ideas, and files.
