What is GoCardless?

GoCardless is a bank payment platform for collecting recurring and one off payments by Direct Debit and instant bank payments, used by subscription businesses, agencies and service providers. Setting up mandates, collecting payments and checking payouts is the routine work. This connection lets Fabric's assistant help, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with GoCardless

Once GoCardless is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work with GoCardless from a simple request.

Look things up. The assistant can search customers, bank accounts, mandates, payments, billing requests, payouts and payout items. Ask which payments failed this month.

Set up mandates. Create Mandate Authorisation Request asks a customer to authorise Direct Debit.

Collect payments. The assistant can create a Direct Debit payment, an instant bank payment, or an instant first payment together with a mandate.

Set up subscriptions. Create Subscription sets up recurring collection on a mandate. API Request (Beta) reaches the GoCardless API for anything else.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before collecting any payment or creating a subscription, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Looking things up never changes anything.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a weekly list of failed payments. The connection also includes events, such as Payment Confirmed, Failed Payment, Mandate Cancelled and Payout Paid, which can start an automation.
