What is Anthropic (Claude)?
Anthropic is the AI company that makes Claude, a family of AI models available in the Claude apps and through the Anthropic API. This connection lets Fabric's assistant use your Anthropic API account, so you can send a prompt to a specific Claude model and work with files in your Anthropic account, with the results coming back into Fabric.
What Fabric's assistant can do with Anthropic (Claude)
Once your Anthropic account is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can call it from a simple request.
Send a prompt to Claude. Send Message sends a prompt to the Claude model you choose on your Anthropic account and returns the response. Use it when you want a specific model, your own API settings, or usage billed to your Anthropic account.
Manage files in your Anthropic account. Upload File adds a file for Claude to use, List Files and Get File Metadata show what is there, Download File retrieves one, and Delete File removes it.
You stay in control
The assistant works from your instructions. Requests run on the Anthropic account you connect, so Anthropic bills that account under its API pricing. It confirms with you before deleting files, unless you've told it not to for a particular task.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as sending a weekly batch of notes to Claude for a summary.

Connecting Anthropic also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search, so file details are findable alongside the rest of your library.
