Find music and podcasts, build playlists and control playback on Spotify.
Powered by Zapier.
Spotify is a music and podcast streaming service with a catalog of songs, albums and shows, plus playlists you build and share. Finding tracks, saving them and keeping playlists in order is easier when you can just ask. This connection lets Fabric's assistant do that for you, in plain language.
Once Spotify is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work with your library from a simple request.
Find music and podcasts. Search for Item, Find Track and Find Episode search the catalog, Find Top Tracks for Artist lists an artist's most played songs, and Get Show Details and Get Show Episodes look into a podcast. Get Currently Playing Track tells you what is on.
Build playlists. Create Playlist starts one, Add Items to Playlist fills it, and Update Playlist changes its name or description. A list of songs in a Fabric note can become a playlist in one request.
Save to your library. Save Track(s), Save Album and Save Episode to My User keep what you find, and Get Saved Shows lists the podcasts you follow.
Control playback. Start/Resume Playback plays on your active device. Get Track's Audio Features returns details such as tempo and energy.
The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before changing playlists, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Searching never changes anything.
When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as adding the week's new episodes of a show to a playlist. The connection also includes events, such as New Saved Track, New Played Track, New Podcast Episode and New Track Added to Playlist, which can start an automation.
Connecting Spotify also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search.
Content creators collect reference tracks for a video in a playlist.
Music creators check the tempo and energy of tracks they are studying.
Students turn a reading list of podcasts into saved episodes.
Video editors build a playlist from a mood board in Fabric.
