What is Smartsheet?

Smartsheet is a work management platform built on spreadsheet style sheets, used for project plans, trackers and reports across teams. Keeping rows current and sharing the right sheets with the right people is a big part of the work. This connection lets Fabric's assistant handle that for you, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Smartsheet

Once Smartsheet is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work with your sheets from a simple request.

Find and read. Find Sheet Row finds rows, Get Reports pulls report data, Find Attachment finds files on a row, and Export Column exports a column's values. Ask which tasks on the launch plan are behind and you get the answer without filtering.

Update the plan. Add Row to Sheet adds work, Update Row changes status, dates or owners, Copy Row and Move Row reorganize, and Add Discussion to Row and Add Attachment to Row add context. After a status meeting, describe the changes once and the assistant applies them.

Set up sheets and workspaces. Create Sheet From Template and Create Sheet From Existing Sheet start new sheets, Create Workspace, Copy Workspace and Copy Folder set up structure.

Share. Share Sheet and Share Workspace give people access, and Send Row and Send Sheet email a row or sheet to someone. API Request (Beta) reaches the Smartsheet API for anything else.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before sharing or sending sheets, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Finding rows and reading reports never changes anything.

When a job should run regularly, a Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as a weekly summary of rows marked at risk. The connection also includes events, such as New Row, Updated Row, New Comment and New Attachment, which can start an automation.

Connecting Smartsheet also adds keyword search over your Smartsheet records from Fabric's main search.
