What is Descript?

Descript is an audio and video editor that lets you edit recordings by editing their transcript, with AI tools for removing filler words, studio sound, captions and clips. Podcasters, video creators and marketing teams use it to produce content quickly. This connection lets Fabric's assistant import media, edit with AI and export transcripts, in plain language.

What Fabric's assistant can do with Descript

Once Descript is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can work in Descript from a simple request.

Import media. Import Media brings a recording into a Descript project.

Edit with AI. Edit Project With AI applies an edit you describe, such as removing filler words.

Export and publish. Export Transcript brings the transcript back, for example to keep with your notes in Fabric, and Publish Project publishes the project.

Track work. The assistant can find projects and jobs, get project details and job status, and cancel a job.

You stay in control

The assistant works from your instructions, and it confirms with you before publishing or applying AI edits, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Looking things up never changes anything.

A Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, such as collecting the week's transcripts into a note.

Connecting Descript also adds keyword search over its records from Fabric's main search.
