Create and manage tasks, docs, and messages in ClickUp.
Powered by Zapier.
ClickUp is an all-in-one work platform, tasks, docs, chat, time tracking, and custom fields, organised into spaces, folders, and lists. Because so much lives in one place, keeping it current means a lot of small actions across all of it: creating tasks and subtasks, writing docs, posting messages, logging time, updating fields. This connection lets Fabric's assistant handle much of that for you, in plain language.
Once your ClickUp is connected, Fabric's AI assistant can act on your workspace from plain-language requests.
Find things. Find tasks, the most recent task, a task by ID, a list of all tasks, custom fields, users, and documents, so you can locate work without scanning the hierarchy.
Manage tasks. Create tasks and subtasks, post task comments, add attachments, log time tracked, update tasks and custom field values, update access for a task, and archive or delete tasks, the everyday work of keeping things moving.
Work with docs and structure. Create documents, document pages, spaces, folders, lists, and custom fields, and edit a document page, so setting up and writing in your workspace can be handed off.
Send messages. Send direct messages and channel messages, so the chat side stays in step with the work.
You describe what you want and the assistant maps it to the right ClickUp action or trigger.
The assistant acts only when you ask. For anything consequential, archiving or deleting a task, updating access, overwriting a field or a document, sending a message, it confirms with you before going ahead, unless you've told it not to for a particular task. Finding and reading never change anything in your workspace.
When something should happen regularly, you can set up a Fabric AI job that runs on a schedule, creating follow-up tasks, logging time, posting an update, so the routine work runs itself while you keep approval over anything that deletes, overwrites, or sends.
Alongside the assistant, connecting ClickUp adds keyword search over your workspace from Fabric's main search, so a task, doc, or message is findable by matching text in the same place you search the rest of your library, rather than searching ClickUp separately.
Teams running everything in ClickUp manage tasks, docs, and chat through the assistant, so the one place their work lives takes less manual upkeep.
Project managers create tasks, subtasks, and docs and update fields by asking, and let task activity trigger follow-on steps.
People tracking time log time and post updates without breaking flow.
Teams with recurring workspace chores set up a scheduled AI job to handle the setup and upkeep, while keeping approval over anything destructive.
What does the ClickUp connection do?
It lets Fabric's AI assistant run your ClickUp, taking actions across tasks, docs, custom fields, and chat. It also adds keyword search over your workspace in Fabric.
What can the assistant do in ClickUp?
It can find tasks, custom fields, users, and documents, create tasks and subtasks, post comments and attachments, log time, update tasks, fields, and access, archive or delete tasks, create documents, pages, spaces, folders, lists, and custom fields, edit document pages, and send direct and channel messages. You ask in plain language rather than choosing from a fixed list.
Does the assistant change my workspace on its own?
No. It acts only when you ask, and for consequential actions, deleting tasks, changing access, overwriting fields or docs, sending messages, it confirms with you first, unless you've deliberately told it not to for a specific task. Finding and reading change nothing.
Can it work across tasks, docs, and chat?
Yes. ClickUp folds all three into one workspace, and the connection covers all three, creating and updating tasks, writing and editing docs, and sending messages, from the same assistant.
Can I automate workspace upkeep?
Yes. A Fabric AI job can run on a schedule, for example creating follow-up tasks or posting updates, while you keep approval over anything destructive.
Can I search my ClickUp from Fabric?
Yes, by keyword, from Fabric's main search, so a task, doc, or message is findable by matching text alongside the rest of your library.
How is this different from the Asana connection?
Both manage tasks and projects. ClickUp is broader, an all-in-one that folds docs, chat, and time tracking into the same workspace; the Asana connection is focused on task and project management. Choose the one your team works in.
Will it delete tasks or send messages without asking?
No. Nothing that deletes, overwrites, or sends happens without your confirmation, unless you've chosen to let a specific task run without it.
Is my ClickUp data secure?
Everything in Fabric is encrypted in transit and at rest. The connection acts on your workspace with your authorisation, and you control what it does. The details are in the privacy and security guide and Fabric's privacy commitment.
Does this work through MCP or the API?
Fabric also exposes your library and connected tools to external AI through its MCP server and API; this connection is the built-in way to have Fabric's own assistant work with your ClickUp.
Does Fabric work with other tools alongside ClickUp?
Yes. ClickUp is one of many connections. You can also connect Notion, Google Drive, and Gmail, and automate across many apps with Zapier.
Fabric is an AI workspace for your projects, ideas, and files.
Save anything – PDFs, images, links, notes, voice memos, videos – and search across all of it by meaning, not just keywords. Think visually on an infinite canvas, connect your tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Notion, and Figma, and work alongside a personal AI assistant that knows your work, remembers your context, and gets smarter the more you use it.
Available on web, iOS, Android, and desktop.
