The Ministry of Labour and Employment (“Ministry”) vide notifications dated May 08, 2026 and May 09, 2026 has notified the central rules, namely, (a) the Industrial Relations (Central) Rules, 2026; (b) the Code on Wages (Central) Rules, 2026; (c) the Social Security (Central) Rules, 2026 and; (iv) the Occupational Safety Health and Working Conditions (Central) Rules, 2026 (collectively referred to as the “Central Rules”). By notifying the Central Rules, the Ministry has completed the implementation of the 4 (four) labour codes, which came into effect on November 21, 2025. The Firm had earlier prepared ‘key highlights under the labour codes’ when the labour codes were notified, for the purpose of sensitizing the employers about the key provisions of the labour codes.
