When consuming content, you can grow your knowledge tree by taking notes. A diverse information diet is more important than trying to maintain a perfect one.
Note: AI Meeting Notes are only available on paid plans.
Fabric can record, transcribe, and summarize meetings without requiring a bot to join the call.
During a call, Fabric can capture audio from your computer and microphone. There is no need to invite an additional meeting participant or bot.
Important: Always get consent from any parties before using the AI meeting notetaker.
Meeting detection works in:
Chrome: Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
Firefox: Google Meet, Microsoft Teams
Native app: Zoom
Installing the Fabric desktop app improves meeting detection and high-quality capture of other meeting participants.
To create a meeting note:
Click to create a Meeting Note.
Start recording when prompted.
Fabric records and continuously transcribes the meeting.
At the end, Fabric generates an AI summary and attaches the audio recording.
You can also make notes before, during, or after the meeting. Fabric combines them into the meeting summary.
Fabric can automatically detect when a meeting begins and offer to start transcribing it. You can also start meeting note capture manually at any time.
Fabric offers templates for structuring meeting notes. By default, the template is set to Auto, which tries to determine the best output format automatically.
If you want to change the format later, choose a new template and Fabric will regenerate the meeting summary.
Example template categories include:
Auto
Team meeting

To share directly:

Fabric works as a personal search engine across your files, apps, notes, clouds, and media.
If you connect external sources like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Gmail, Fabric searches those sources too.
Search behavior depends on the connection type:
Search-only connections: keyword-based search using the data source’s API.
Connected sources: fully indexed by Fabric and searchable semantically by meaning and file contents.
Fabric search combines multiple factors to improve relevance beyond simple keyword matching.
You can search in natural language by describing what you are looking for.
For exact matches, wrap your query in quotes.
Example:
"research"
This returns results that specifically include that word.
From an opened file:
Click the ⋮ menu.
Click Explore similar files.
Fabric uses that file as the search query and finds close matches.
Use the color picker to find images, designs, and documents containing specific colors.
To search by color:
Click the color wheel in the search overlay.
Paste a Hex color or use the color picker.
Fabric finds closely matching colored media.
To search with an image:
Open search.
Click the camera icon.
Upload an image as the query.
Fabric finds similar images and related content.
Fabric Assistant can search transcripts of:
Audio files
Video files
YouTube content
It can find specific timeframes and provide timestamps so you can jump directly to the relevant moment.
Search can start from file attributes such as:
Tags
Parent folders
File kind
You can also apply these filters to text-based queries.
Search view modes include:
Grid: good for most content
Masonry: good for visual content
Detailed: deeper information with medium thumbnails
List: granular information with customizable columns
You can also:
Zoom in or out
Toggle visual attributes on cards
Show or hide the external search panel
