Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung
So fassen Sie ein Meeting zusammen

Most meetings end with the same small job: someone needs to write down what was decided, who’s doing what, and anything that was left open. When the job isn’t assigned to anyone, the summary is a few lines in a chat thread, or it doesn’t happen and the same discussion comes back two weeks later.
This guide covers the common ways teams summarize meetings and how to do it in Fabric, where the summary comes from the transcript and your own notes together, and later questions about the meeting can be answered with timestamps.
How people usually summarize meetings
The traditional method is a designated note-taker. One person types while the others talk, then tidies the notes into a summary afterwards. The summary reflects what that person thought mattered, and the note-taker contributes less to the discussion. It also depends on that person being at every meeting, and on their notes being saved somewhere the rest of the team can find.
AI notetakers that join the call as a participant are now widespread. They produce a transcript and summary without anyone typing. The bot appears in the participant list, which some external guests ask about, and the summary arrives in the notetaker’s own app, separate from the project files the meeting was about.
Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet each offer their own built-in recaps on some plans. They’re convenient inside each platform. Teams that use more than one platform end up with summaries in several places, and operations leads describe the familiar result: decisions were made, but no one can find where or when, so they get discussed again.
Step 1: Install the desktop app and start the call
Install the Fabric desktop app on Mac, Windows, or Linux. Then start your call in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet as usual. Fabric detects the meeting and offers to start transcribing. No bot joins the call, so the participant list shows only the people in the meeting. Meeting transcription needs a paid plan.
For a meeting in a room, a site visit, or a conversation over coffee, start a voice or meeting note manually in any Fabric app, including the iOS and Android apps on the mobile download page. How to record and transcribe an in-person meeting goes through that setup.
Step 2: Write your own notes alongside the transcript
Before or during the meeting, write notes in Fabric: the agenda, the questions you want answered, or a quick line when something important is said. While the call runs, the transcript appears in real time, and you can search it or ask the AI questions about it, which helps when you join late or lose the thread. For a client call, a few lines written beforehand (what they asked for last time, what you need from them today) give the write-up context the transcript alone wouldn’t have.
Your notes carry what the transcript can’t, such as which point you think matters most or a follow-up you’ve decided to take on. How to combine your meeting notes with the transcript covers note-taking habits that make the final write-up more useful.
Step 3: Read the write-up when the meeting ends
When the meeting ends, or when you stop a manual voice or meeting note, Fabric analyzes your notes and the transcript together and produces a write-up of the meeting. That write-up is your summary. The AI voice notes page shows how meeting notes look in the app.
Read it through while the meeting is fresh and correct anything that’s off. Transcripts can be edited, which is worth doing for names, figures, and product terms before the summary goes to anyone else. The corrected write-up then works as the starting point for a follow-up email, or as the source for the decisions you copy into a project document.
Step 4: Ask follow-up questions about the meeting
A write-up covers the main points. For anything more specific, open the folder where your meeting notes live and open the AI assistant. It’s limited to that folder, and its answers cite timestamps in the recording, so “What exactly did Priya say about the launch date?” comes back with a link to the moment she said it.
The same folder works for a series of meetings. Ask what was decided about pricing across the last six weekly calls, or which open questions keep coming back. How to find recurring themes across your meetings goes further on that kind of review. Answers worth keeping can be saved as notes.
Step 5: Share the summary with the people who need it
Share the meeting note with colleagues through a shared link, choosing view, comment, or edit permission. External people, such as a client who was on the call, can open shared links without signing up. Fabric’s collaboration tools let others comment on the summary or add what they remember. For a recurring meeting, keep each week’s note in one folder so the full history sits together and the assistant can be pointed at it.
For teams that hold many meetings, Fabric’s meetings knowledge base page describes how recordings and notes build into a searchable record over time.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get an AI summary of a Zoom meeting without a bot?
Install the Fabric desktop app and start the Zoom call. Fabric detects the meeting, offers to transcribe it, and produces a write-up when the call ends, with no bot joining. How to take meeting notes without a bot joining the call has more detail.
Does this work for Microsoft Teams and Google Meet?
Yes. The desktop app detects meetings in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
Can I summarize an in-person meeting?
Yes. Start a voice or meeting note manually in any Fabric app, including on your phone. When you stop it, Fabric produces the same write-up from the recording and any notes you took.
Do my own notes go into the meeting summary?
Yes. Fabric analyzes your notes and the transcript together when the meeting ends, so the write-up reflects both.
Can I ask questions during the meeting?
Yes. The transcript appears in real time, and you can search it and ask the AI questions about it while the meeting is going.
How do I find what someone said in an old meeting?
Search covers meeting transcripts, and results jump to the timestamp. You can also ask the AI assistant, which cites the moment in the recording.
Can I edit the meeting transcript?
Yes. Transcripts can be edited, which helps fix names and technical terms before you share the summary.
Is meeting summarizing on the free plan?
No. Meeting recording relies on transcription, which needs a paid plan. See pricing for plan options.
