So stellen Sie der KI Fragen zu Ihren Meeting-Aufzeichnungen

Three weeks after a kickoff call, someone asks what the client agreed to on the launch date. The call was recorded. The recording sits in a cloud folder alongside forty others, the summary went out by email and has since been buried, and finding the answer means rewatching most of an hour to hear a two-minute exchange near the end.
This guide covers how people usually get answers from past meeting recordings, where that breaks down, and how to keep meetings in Fabric so you can ask the AI assistant about one call or a whole series and check each answer at its timestamp.
How people usually get answers from meeting recordings
Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet can record calls, and depending on the plan they often produce a transcript as well. Searching a single transcript for a keyword is quick. A question across a quarter’s worth of client calls means opening each recording in turn, and the recordings live apart from the documents the meetings were about.
Bot notetakers join the call, record it and send a summary afterwards. Many teams rely on them. Some participants are uneasy about a bot in the room, and the summaries tend to arrive in inboxes and chat channels where they scroll out of view within a week.
Product and research teams describe a familiar pattern with interview calls: the research gets done, the report gets written, and the raw recordings are rarely searched again. A question that the report didn’t cover goes unanswered because rewatching thirty sessions takes days.
Asking about a call while it’s still happening is a related task, covered in How to ask AI questions during a live meeting. This page is about meetings that have already ended.
Step 1: Capture meetings in Fabric
Install the Fabric desktop app. When you start a call in Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, Fabric detects the meeting and offers to start transcribing. No bot joins the call. The transcript appears in real time, and you can write notes before or during the meeting alongside it.
When the call ends, Fabric analyzes your notes and the transcript together and produces a write-up of the meeting. For an in-person meeting, start a meeting note manually in any Fabric app and the same write-up happens when you stop. The AI meeting notes page covers this in more detail.
Past recordings exported from a meeting platform can be uploaded too. Drag in MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3, WAV or M4A files, or click Upload a file, and Fabric transcribes them. Transcription and meeting recording need a paid plan.
Step 2: Keep each client or project’s meetings together
Folders are optional in Fabric, and search works without them. For meetings, though, a folder per client, project or interview round makes scoping questions easy later. Each recording is processed on arrival: Fabric writes a summary, extracts the topics discussed, and suggests tags, so a folder of calls is easy to scan before you ask anything.
Put related documents in the same folder if they help: the proposal the client was reacting to, or the discussion guide for a research round. The assistant can then answer using the meetings and the documents together.
Step 3: Ask about one meeting
Open the folder and open the AI assistant. It’s automatically limited to that folder. You can also right-click the folder and add it to the assistant’s context without opening it.
Ask a precise question. “What did Dana agree to on the launch date in the kickoff call?” The answer cites the recording with clickable timestamps, so you can jump to the exchange and hear the exact words before quoting them to anyone. Follow-ups keep the context: ask whether any conditions were attached, or who raised the concern about testing.
Step 4: Ask across a series of meetings
The same approach scales to a stack of calls. In a client folder holding six months of weekly check-ins, ask “How has the client’s view of the reporting dashboard changed since March?” The assistant analyzes every meeting in the folder and cites a timestamp in each call it draws on.
For research, a folder of twenty user interviews can answer “Which participants mentioned switching from spreadsheets, and why?” How to find recurring themes across your meetings goes further into synthesis across calls.
Without a folder, the assistant runs an agentic search across Fabric and any connected apps. That suits questions like “When did we last discuss the pricing change, and in which meeting?” You can choose the model that answers, from Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek, Grok, Qwen and others, under one subscription.
Step 5: Share answers with your team
Save useful answers as notes in the meeting folder, so a summary of what the client has asked for across ten calls stays with the recordings. When the folder is shared, colleagues see the same notes and recordings. On the Team plan, Fabric Tag lets people ask the assistant from Slack or Discord, so someone can check what was agreed without opening Fabric.
To find an exact line rather than ask a question, search covers transcribed audio and video and opens results at the exact timestamp. Team plans are not priced per seat.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI answer questions about a recorded meeting?
Yes. Once a meeting is transcribed in Fabric, the AI assistant answers questions about it and cites the recording with clickable timestamps.
Does Fabric need a bot to join my Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call?
No. The desktop app detects the meeting and offers to transcribe it, and no bot joins the call. How to take meeting notes without a bot joining the call explains the setup.
Can I upload old meeting recordings and ask about them?
Yes. Upload MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3, WAV or M4A files and Fabric transcribes them. Transcription needs a paid plan.
Can I ask one question across many meetings?
Yes. Put the recordings in one folder and open the assistant inside it. It analyzes all of them and cites a timestamp in each meeting it uses.
Can I check exactly what someone said?
Yes. Click the timestamp in the assistant’s answer and the recording opens at that moment.
Does it work for in-person meetings?
Yes. Start a meeting note manually in any Fabric app, including on your phone. When you stop, Fabric transcribes it and writes it up.
Can my team ask questions about our meetings from Slack?
Yes, on the Team plan. Fabric Tag lets people mention Fabric in Slack or Discord and ask the assistant directly.
What happens to the notes I take during a meeting?
When the meeting ends, Fabric analyzes your notes and the transcript together and produces a write-up of the meeting.
